Some mastermind at developer Rocket Company came up with the ingenious idea to create a title that would run in direct competition with the upcoming Wii Fit.  The only snag was that Wii Exercise was not going to launch with an alternative to Wii Fit's Balance Board, essentially handing the battle over to Wii Fit.  Then Rocket actually got smart.

Wii Exercise will now use Wii Fit's Balance Board as part of its exercise routines that will include sit-ups, push-ups, aerobics and boxing.  It's a better move overall for the company and their product, but one has to wonder if it will be enough.  With Nintendo putting a massive marketing push behind Wii Fit, it's unclear whether gamers are going to be willing to buy Wii Fit AND its competitor.

Grew up on Final Fantasy games on the kajillion different consoles over the years?  Can't wait to chat it up with all of the other fans - er, superfans - about the upcoming Chocobo's Dungeon?  Square Enix is about to make your life a whole lot easier on March 24th.

That's the day that the Japanese developer launches a fan site for all things Square.  An online community is in the works as well as a membership site chock full of sneak peeks, contests, even interviews with Square Enix developers on your favorite titles.  First dibs on the name Cloud!

Remember the summers spent packing into the station wagon with the family and heading off to the carnival? No? Well, you missed out, especially on the great golfing.

The (somehow) popular Wii game, Carnival Games, is being expanded into a multi-title franchise. The newest installment for the Wii is Carnival Games: Mini-Golf. Hitting shelves in the fall, the game will have, according to the developers, "true-to-life physics." They also say that you "can almost smell the cotton candy", so go figure.

So you've got Super Smash Bros.Brawl and you've been tinkering with the stage editor. You may even fancy yourself some great level designer and want to share your creations with the world. Or, you may be in desperate need of new stages because this isn't your bag, baby. Thank the Internet gods for IGN.

IGN has launched a Super Smash Bros. Brawl site (supersmashbros.ign.com/stages), allowing users to share their created stages with each other via the Web. These stages can be downloaded directly to your SD card, streamlining the entire process. The IGN site also has a rating scale and screenshots - everything you need to enhance your Super Smash Bros. Brawl experience.

Remember looking at Carnival Games and thinking how great of a concept it is. Carnival Games ended up being a huge hit which was a shock for many game developers as it was supposed to be a cheap budget game. It made developers realize the power Nintendo Wii has in terms of creating games that aren't just the most realistic looking one to date.

Carnival Games has now released a new version that focuses just on Mini Golf. Golf has been a real hit on the Nintendo Wii and this is an excellent extension of that. I expect Carnival Games to sell a ton of games. The makers of Carnival Games really seem to know what they are doing with the Nintendo Wii and I hope they start cranking out more games that are fun for all your friends and family.

Have you ever been in one of those situations where you there was something really annoying about a certain level? How about a time when you thought if only one thing changed than the map would be perfect. Well, there's a solution for you now. Super Smash Bros Brawl offers a level maker built in!

The coolest part is that you can share these levels with your friends. IGN has also built a tool to make it even easier to see what other people in the web have built. This is a great addition to Super Smash Bros Brawl and should give limitless play to a game that almost already has unlimited play value.

Wii Freeloader 03/02/2008

The Wii Freeloader is for all of you wanting to import games to your Wii which is pretty cool because now the you can actually buy it in stores. There much anticipation of this loader-ness, but now you can buy it.

It is sale but I don't exactly know how much it is going to be. So now you can enjoy a number of games that you already have. What is better than that?...

So you are probably wondering who is Ken Levine. Well he is the creator of Bioshock and other games and it part of the gaming business. He said that Wii bowling is the Ultimate Gateway Drug.

That is pretty funny and true at the same time. Wii Bowling is a getaway from reality in a sense and it is pretty fun to play too. He is one of the greats and I do agree with him that you do get a sense of being away.
